A Peaceful Retirement Community in the Heart of Miramichi, New Brunswick
Nestled in a quiet, friendly corner of what was once the town of Chatham (now part of Miramichi, NB), Retirement Miramichi offers a warm and welcoming environment for retirees seeking comfort, community, and affordability.
The community occupies the former grounds of CFB Chatham, a once-bustling military base that housed families from 1940 until its closure in 1996. Today, Retirement Miramichi provides a selection of well-maintained, affordable rental homes designed specifically for retirees from across Canada.
This map is part of the information package they share with prospective residents nationwide.

Developed as part of Mental Health Awareness Week to help shed light on the importance of recognizing and understanding mental health challenges. While the topic may be difficult, increasing awareness is essential for fostering empathy, support, and informed action.
Using data visualization, particularly through mapping, offers a powerful way to simplify complex information. By layering data with color and charts, patterns and correlations become easier to identify and interpret. In this particular map, the pie charts appear similar due to the close percentage values across each health zone—highlighting the consistent impact of mental health issues throughout the region.
